Cultural capital of the Mediterranean
The city of Dénia preserves the legacy of its thousand-year-old history, the cradle of peoples and cultures for more than 2,000 years. As the capital of the Marina Alta region and within its status as a Creative City by UNESCO, Dénia today continues to have an important cultural activity, but the city yearns the cultural luster of its taifa from a thousand years ago and aspires to recover its place as a beacon of culture and thought in the Mediterranean.
From October 27 to 29, Dénia Festival de les Humanitats will once again make the city of Dénia the epicenter of critical thought, reflection and the Humanities the Mediterranean.
