Mara Diessen
PhD in neurobiology from the University of Cantabria and director of research at the Center for Genomic Regulation in Barcelona. She is a world expert in the field of neurobiology and pharmacology, and her contributions have been published in more than 130 international journals. She has received numerous awards for her research career, including the National Prize for Scientific Thought and Culture, awarded by the Generalitat de Catalunya in 2008, and two "Jaime Blanco" awards for her research on the syndrome of Down. She is the author of El cerebro artístico. La creatividad desde la neurociencia (EMSE, 2016), has been president of the Spanish Society of Neuroscience (2013-2015), of which she is a member, and is part of the European Academy, which brings together leading scientists and professors from all over Europe. She is a member of the editorial committee and academic editor of various scientific journals (Genes, Brain and Behavior, Frontiers in Behavioral Neuroscience, Amino Acids, Frontiers in Genetics among others) and a member of the Scientific Advisory Boards of several institutes research.
