Signing of the collaboration agreement with the ÉTNOR Foundation for the celebration of the Dénia Humanities Festival

The mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, as president of the Dénia Creative City of Gastronomy Foundation of the Valencian Community, and the president of the Foundation for the Ethics of Business and Organizations (ÉTNOR), Pedro Coca, have today signed a collaboration agreement for the creation, management and promotion of the Humanities Festival to be held in Dénia next October.
The Fundació Dénia Ciutat Creativa de la Gastronomia has as its main purposes the dissemination, promotion and encouragement of cultural and social activities, and for this, among its objectives is the celebration of the annual cultural and social event "Dénia Festival de les Humanitats ”, which will take place on October 27, 28 and 29, 2022.
The festival will be an important boost to social, cultural and economic activity in the city of Dénia during the month of October, that is, it will also contribute to the seasonal adjustment of the economic activity of the municipality. Likewise, it will allow civil society, both those that are in their educational stage (students from institutes, universities, etc.), and, where appropriate, in the professional one (philosophers, writers, teachers, etc.), and those that is integrated or promoted through the associative activity (members of the IECMA, MACMA, etc.), can participate in an open forum for training and debate with leading experts in the field of humanistic thought, among other issues, regarding the future evolution of humanity.
By virtue of the agreement signed today, the members of ÉTNOR can join the management and/or coordination of the festival and also form part of the cast of speakers, lecturers, interlocutors or presenters in the programmed activities.
The ÉTNOR Foundation, for its part, undertakes to disseminate among its members the contents and topics related to the programming of the Festival of Humanities.
The duration of the collaboration agreement is one year, extendable for a period of equal duration, provided that the parties agree.
The mayor of Dénia has highlighted the importance of the agreement signed today, which will allow the festival to have the "very valuable and necessary" support of the ÉTNOR Foundation, an entity that is synonymous with "rigorousness, plurality and innovation, in addition to to be a pioneer in promoting recognition and respect for the ethical values implicit in economic and business activity.”
The contribution of the members of the ÉTNOR Foundation, made up of academics, businessmen and managers, "will be essential to round out the proposal for the Festival of Humanities, also endorsed by the Universities of Alicante and Valencia and the associated center of the UNED in Dénia; the Generalitat Valenciana, private entities such as Baleària and others of a cultural nature such as the Institute of Regional Studies of the Marina Alta or the Musical Artistic Group of Dénia”, the mayor stressed.
The president of ÉTNOR, Pedro Coca, considers it "an honor" for the entity to participate in the festival project, "which is giving Dénia a dimension that allows it to express its deep roots in culture."
Coca thanked the Dénia City Council for the invitation to join the initiative and dedicated a few words of thanks to Josep Vicent Mascarell, a member of the Foundation's executive committee, for whom he is "a very important person" and who has been who "generated an attraction in the project and our interest in participating."
